Delicious and Nutritious Food For Your Dietary Needs

Highland's Nutrition Services Department strives to provide quality, nutritious food prepared for your specific diet. Your doctor and dietitian will determine the diet best suited for your medical condition. Changes in your diet order may require changes to your meal selections. Nutritional services will substitute the appropriate foods when this occurs, based on foods you like. Let the nutrition staff or your nurse know if you have food preferences based on personal, cultural, or religious reasons (e.g., kosher, vegetarian, or lactose free). We will make every effort to honor your choices, but occasionally we may have to make substitutions.

Guest Meal Program

For a small fee of $6.00, visitors and family members can enjoy a meal with you. A guest meal consists of an entrĂ©e, vegetable, fruit, and beverage. Guests will need to go to the cafeteria and pay for the meal with cash or credit card. The guest should then bring the receipt to Nutrition Services — located near the cafeteria on Level One of the East Wing in room #E107B. Cafeteria staff members are available to escort guests to the Nutrition Services office if necessary. At Nutrition Services, the guest can select a meal from the menu. The guest meal tray will then be delivered with your meal to your room. Lunch orders must be placed by 11 am. Dinner orders must be placed by 4 pm.
