Jones Memorial Hospital Joins University of Rochester Medicine in System-Wide Brand Refresh

Effective April 15, UR Medicine transitioned to University of Rochester Medicine, unifying the health system under a refreshed name and logo that better reflects its connection to the University of Rochester. UR Medicine Jones Memorial, an affiliate of the health system for the past 10 years, will adopt the new brand identity as part of this system-wide transition.

With Jones Memorial’s name and local identity preserved, the hospital is now known as Jones Memorial Hospital (or locally as Jones Hospital), part of University of Rochester Medicine. The Jones Memorial Hospital Foundation, Auxiliary and all existing services and names remain unchanged at this time. The update follows the university’s own brand refresh, unveiled in October 2025. The new health system name aligns all affiliate hospitals, organizations, and care locations under a single, clear identity – a move consistent with national peers such as Penn Medicine, UCLA Health, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

“This transition reaffirms our connection to one of the nation’s leading academic health systems while preserving the Jones Memorial local identity our community knows and trusts,” said Jim Helms, President and CEO of Jones. “Our mission and values, our people, and our commitment to advancing healthcare for our rural community remain the same. Patients and families can expect the same providers, the same care, and the same community focus they’ve always experienced here at Jones.”

The transition follows a digital-first approach. Online channels, including the Jones website and social media, will reflect the new branding first. Physical changes, such as signage, printed materials, and uniforms, will be phased in gradually over time as items are naturally replaced, minimizing disruption and costs. Consumer research conducted across the region found strong support for the new name, with respondents recognizing that the University of Rochester connection conveys quality, academic excellence, and access to advanced care.
