Jones Memorial Announces New Mission, Vision & Values

Jones Memorial Hospital has recently announced a reimagined mission, vision and values statement, crafted by the associates and centered around the values that shape Jones Memorial and its associates every day.

Staff and adminstration worked closely to develop a new mission statement, vision statement and values that more closely represent who Jones Memorial is, who the hospital strives to be and where they are going in the future as well the their values to the patients, community and associates.

What is the new mission statement?

Jones Memorial Hospital provides the highest quality healthcare in a caring manner to improve the quality of life for our communities.

This statement helps all staff and associates as well as the community understand the meaning and purpose of Jones Memorial and how the hospital works to achieve a larger goal.

What is the vision statement and why did it change?

To be the leading hospital of choice in our region for patients, associates and medical staff as a viable and collaborative member of the University of Rochester Medicine health system; delivering quality healthcare to our diverse communities.

A vision statement helps to direct the organization's strategic plan. The statement had not been updated in several years and did not reflect the hospital's affiliation with University of Rochester Medicine or the affiliate partners.

How did the values change?

While the stated values only changed slightly, the words were updated to encompass ALL values towards patients, community and other associates. We strive to keep our focus on Quality, Commitment and Caring, while also expanding our values to include a WE CARE model which ensures we are focused on Wellness, Empathy, Commitement, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Jim Helms, CEO stated, "We believe this change reflects the true values of Jones Memorial Hospital, our associates, providers, staff as well as our community and how we interact. We are thankful to the committee for their hard work and dedication on this project."
