JONES MEMORIAL PRIMARY CARE - ALFRED OFFICE EXPANDS TO 5 DAYS A WEEK

The Jones Memorial Primary Care – Alfred office has recently expanded access for patient care, by increasing hours to 5 days a week. The office recently started seeing patients in October 2023 with a soft opening, offering patient care three days a week.

Carrie Walker, VP of Practice Management and Professional Services states that, "By expanding our availability in this area, we greatly expand access to care for our patients in the region. We are excited to grow this practice and continue to offer compassionate, comprehensive primary care to the residents of Alfred and the surrounding communities."

The team at Alfred Primary Care includes Dr. Ryan Nightingale and Sydney Demick, NP.

Dr. Nightingale is a family practice physician who completed his residency at the University of Rochester. He completed the rural medicine track at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, having graduated from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in neuroscience. During medical school, Dr. Nightingale was co-founder and vice president for Upstate Medical University’s Students for Global Heath, recruiting students for global health projects sponsored by the University. He also assisted in research on dengue fever in Ecuador.

While at Upstate Medical University, Dr. Nightingale was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received both the Nightingale Scholarship and the Benjamin H. Keane Travel Fellowship in Tropical Medicine from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He has professional proficiency in written and spoken Spanish.

Working alongside Dr. Nightingale, Sydney Demick, NP provides acute care, preventative screening, chronic disease management and wellness exams. Sydney received her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner from D’Youville University. She is Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certified.

At Alfred Primary Care, the team is dedicated to offering comprehensive, patient-centered care. Alfred Primary Care is a Patient Centered Medical Home, part of a team of health professionals working with patients to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
