Jones Memorial Welcomes Colleen Truax Back To Wellsville

Jones Memorial Hospital is proud to welcome back Colleen Truax, FNP, to their general surgery unit working with Dr. Du Nguyen.

An Allegany County native, Colleen started at Jones in 2005 and remained with the hospital for 12 years, leaving as the Director of ICU and Cardiopulmonary. During her time at JMH, Colleen received her BSN and MSN degrees from Roberts Wesleyan College. She went on to receive an FNP certificate from Bradley University.

Colleen is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Heart Association for Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support, as well Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Colleen was also recognized in 2022 as one of America’s Top Nurses in “Today’s Nurse.”

Most recently, Colleen has worked in a specialty clinic for Maria Parham Healthcare- Duke Lifepoint Healthcare for Gastroenterology/ Hepatology, caring for and treating patients with a multitude of GI disorders and diseases such as IBS, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, GERD, peptic ulcers, pancreatic insufficiency, and liver diseases.

Colleen has been married for 33 years to her husband, Clayton. They have two children, four granddaughters and another grandchild on the way. Colleen enjoys reading, knitting, crocheting, and gardening, as well as spending time with family and friends.
