URMC / Medicine / Palliative Care / Research

The URMC Palliative Care Program has grown rapidly from its inception in 2001, and we are now fully integrated into the clinical, educational, and research initiatives within the University of Rochester Medical Center and the larger Rochester community. Our multidisciplinary research team has members from nursing, medicine, psychology, and health services with expertise in quantitative and qualitative methods.

Many members of our team consult and participate in quality of care initiatives such as performance improvement regionally, nationally, and internationally. Visitors from other medical centers representing a wide range of disciplines regularly come to learn with us and from us. The palliative care faculty and their colleagues are active participants in an array of research efforts that will contribute to advances in the theory and practice of palliative care.
