Head and Neck Pathology

The Head and Neck Pathology subspecialty service is dedicated to diagnostic excellence and to exploring new and innovative methodologies for effective patient care and management.

Our tumor volume includes lesions from the oral cavity, oropharynx, nasopharynx, nasal cavity, larynx, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, salivary glands, neck lymph nodes, and ear.

The members of the Head and Neck also are members of the Cytopathology subspecialty service with expertise in head and neck cytopathology.

We incorporate immunohistochemical staining, FISH analysis and next generation sequencing for diagnosis and treatment planning.

We work closely with our multidisciplinary UR Medicine Head and Neck team that includes head and neck surgeons, oral surgeons, speech pathologists, researchers, radiologists, and oncologists to discuss and decide the most effective patients management and care.
