Zoe Duberstein

Zoe Duberstein, MA
University of Rochester
Adult Track

As a PhD student at the University of Rochester, I had the opportunity to extern at URMC. This experience solidified my interest in health psychology and made me eager to spend more time learning from psychologists and other clinicians in this supportive, engaging environment. When I learned about URMC’s adult health psychology track, I knew that this program would be a great fit for my goals for developing my integrated, biopsychosocial approach to treatment. I’m excited to get started!

Ole Edvard Granrud

Edvard Granrud, MA
Louisiana State University
Adult Track

I chose URMC for the opportunity to pair outpatient early psychosis training through the INTERCEPT Program with intensive inpatient experience on the Adult Inpatient Psychiatry service. Working across early intervention and acute stabilization settings offers a complementary skill set that aligns with my long-term focus on SMI care and crisis management. URMC’s systemwide commitment to evidence-based treatment across the psychosis spectrum, from prevention through chronic illness, provides the ideal context to deepen my clinical expertise while advancing my research on innovative assessment methods.

Unlike any other internship site, URMC offers a training opportunity with the Deaf community. This was a particular desire of mine for internship, including the opportunity to work within their inpatient unit. URMC is also surrounded by rich local history, reminding me of my hometown - snow included

Lisa LeFeber

Lisa LeFeber, MA
University of Denver
Child and Adolescent Track

I am excited to continue the next stage of my doctoral training at URMC on the Child and Adolescent Track. My goal is to become a pediatric clinical psychologist specializing in suicidal ideation and acute care, and I was drawn to URMC’s strong commitment to both research and clinical excellence in supporting children and their caregivers through times of crisis. I look forward to deepening my clinical skills and theoretical knowledge in evidence-based interventions for a diverse population of children, adolescents, and families, within a community-centered, interprofessional team that values collaboration and research-informed practice.

Mia Menassa

The predoctoral internship program at URMC provides an integrative, multidisciplinary, family-centered approach to treatment, which aligns with my clinical training and goals. URMC offers the opportunity to develop my diagnostic and intervention skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings, working with children and adolescents. Through clinical and research experiences, I look forward to enhancing my ability to deliver culturally informed, holistic care to children and families.

Amanda Meyer

Amanda Meyer, MA
Miami University
Child & Adolescent Track

I believe strongly in patient-centered, evidence-based care, and the URMC psychology doctoral internship's values strongly align with my own. In particular, I appreciate the program’s commitment to building cultural competence as well as clinical competence in collaborating with patients, their families, and the broader systems in which they receive care. As a child/adolescent clinician, I am excited for the range of opportunities to develop my clinical skills across a range of healthcare settings, and to serve children, adolescents, and their families in the greater Rochester area.

Rachel Rivera

Rachel Rivera, MA
University of Rochester
Child & Adolescent Track

I am excited by URMC’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and increasing equitable mental healthcare in the broader Rochester community. I am passionate about leveraging patients’ strengths and using the therapeutic relationship to improve social, emotional, and adaptive functioning. I am particularly interested in working with neurodivergent youth, children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, and those with intersecting marginalized identities. I value taking a culturally responsive and person-centered approach to therapy and assessment through exploring how the constellation of one’s backgrounds and experiences can influence how their strengths and challenges present. I am eager to continue serving families in the Rochester community and expand my clinical skillset during my internship year at URMC Psychiatry!

Jorge Rivera Carrasquillo

Jorge Rivera Carrasquillo, BA
University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras
Adult Track

The possibility of becoming an intern at the URMC Adult - Lazos Fuertes track resonated with my goal of becoming a clinician that is committed to providing services to Spanish-speaking communities. In addition, the attention given to underserved populations, people experiencing health disparities and the program’s overall focus on evidence-based practices allured me. I look forward to working with the interdisciplinary team to provide services to these and other populations in a sensible, respectful and human way.
