Concussion Physical Therapy

Concussion is a form of traumatic brain injury that can have a number of debilitating symptoms.  Our physical therapists can help you return to your normal lifestyle.

Physical therapy can assist with alleviating symptoms that often occur after a concussion.  The therapist will perform a comprehensive evaluation, assessing all the components of typical concussion symptoms including balance, neck pain, headache and dizziness.

Every concussion is unique, so the physical therapist will work closely with the patient to determine the appropriate exercises and activities that will promote improved function.  Whether your symptoms are limiting your ability to participate in sports, recreational activities, daily living tasks or work, our therapists will work closely with you and your medical provider to expedite a return to your normal lifestyle.

Treatment may include:

  • Balance exercises/activities
  • Cervical spine, scapular and postural exercises/activities
  • Vestibular exercises/maneuvers to treat dizziness/vertigo
  • Aerobic testing to determine tolerance to increased activity
  • Sport, work or task specific exercises/activities
