Family Therapy Training Program

Our program emphasizes strength-based and culturally-attuned approaches to individual, couple, and family therapy, based on a biopsychosocial approach across the lifespan.

A rich, multi-disciplinary context prepares well-trained clinicians who can work in a variety of traditional mental health care settings, private practice, school-based, and integrated healthcare settings.

"The University of Rochester's Marriage and Family Therapy program challenged me to think beyond the individual and truly understand the power of relationships, systems, and community. The education, mentorship, and experiences I gained prepared me to make a meaningful impact with individuals, couples, and families while also expanding my leadership beyond the therapy room.
Because of this program, I now have the privilege of serving as Co-Chair of the New York State Marriage and Family Therapy Network (NYMFTN), where I am passionate about elevating and advocating for our profession. I am incredibly proud to be an MFT and would encourage anyone considering the program to take the leap. It will not only prepare you to become a skilled clinician but also inspire you to become a leader in the field."
