Highland Hospital to Host UR Medicine Breast Imaging Event

Highland Hospital will be hosting “Your Breast Health. Facts, Myths & More.” a free casual evening of mingling and education with the UR Medicine Breast Imaging team, on Thursday, November 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Ballroom 384 at City Grill, 384 East Avenue in Rochester.
The goal of the event is to educate women and men about breast cancer screenings. Radiologists will be on site to discuss what they look for when reading mammograms, the proper screening methods for women with dense breasts and what you should know about breast cancer as it relates to your family history.
This event is open to the public and will include a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. Complimentary valet parking will be available for attendees.
According to the American Cancer Society, there is currently a 1 in 8 chance a woman will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Mammography can detect breast cancer that is too small for women to find with a self-exam and early diagnosis is the best weapon in the fight against this disease.
