Pharmacy Tech

Job Details:

Per Diem, Various Shifts including weekends

Job Description:

Under direction and supervision of a Pharmacist, assist in filling medication and IV mixture orders. Replenishes the Pyxis units as required.  Order drugs, keep shelves stocked, and periodically inspect for outdated items.  Perform patient billing functions.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent with strong mathematical capabilities required.  Completion of a Pharm Tech certification program preferred.

Patient Registration Counselor

Job Details:

Full Time & Per Diem Positions, Various Shifts including weekends

Job Description:

Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients, the registration of outpatients, ensure that accurate patient information is collected and that patients are made aware of hospital policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Computer Experience required. Basic knowledge of medical terminology helpful.  Secretarial experience preferred with typing/keyboarding skills preferred.

Door Monitor

Job Details:

Full Time, Temp Evenings and weekends

Job Description:

 Monitor the hospital entrance and screen employees and visitors by asking a set of questions, taking temperatures, handing out masks as needed, and reinforcing proper hand hygiene.  During visiting hours, keep a log of visitor, who they are visiting, unit, room, and bed #, issue corresponding badge, and when visit is done, collect and sanitize badge.

Job Requirements:

 High School diploma or equivalent required.  Individual must be confident enough to enforce rules set for entrance into the Hospital.  Customer Service background with good communication and organizational skills a plus.

Sterile Processing Tech

Job Details:

Full Time, Days 

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Sterile Processing, prepares, tracks, and sterilizes equipment and instruments in an accurate and timely manner.  Prepares operating room sterile trays and sterile instruments and supplies for all areas of the hospital.

Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Certified Registered Sterile Processing Technician certification required within 18 months of hire.

Work experience in a hospital Sterile Processing Department, Operating Room, or inventory control preferred.  Aseptic technique knowledge preferred.  Computer Keyboarding skills or data entry required.

Maintenance Mechanic

Job Details:

Full Time, Days n(weekends when necessary)

Job Description:

Perform a variety of duties in the routine maintenance of the hospital physical plant and associated equipment, as required, to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment for patients and employees of the hospital.

Job Requirements:

Technical background in areas of plant maintenance and systems required. Valid New York State drivers license required.

Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, troubleshooting and repair required. Maintenance experience in a healthcare facility preferred. Two years driving experience required.

Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Description:

With minimum direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment, obtains prior authorizations for both standard and complex requests. Provides multiple and complex details to insurance carrier by anticipating their questions when reviewing and retrieving relevant information from the electronic medical record.  Is accountable for planning, execution, appeals and efficient follow through on all aspects of the process which has direct, multifaceted impact (quality, financial, patient satisfaction, etc.) on patient scheduling, treatment, care and follow up. In addition, responsible for monitoring own performance on assigned tasks.  Self-directed and must make complex decisions independently.  May train other support staff.

Job Requirements:

Associate's degree in Medical, Secretarial or related field and a minimum of three years of relevant experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical Terminology, experiences with surgical/appointment scheduling software (such as Flowcast), and electronic medical records, preferred.  Demonstrated customer relations skills.

Minimum three years revenue cycle experience in healthcare institution with demonstrated strong organizational and customer service skills and ability to successfully communicate in verbal, written, email, and telephone interactions.  Ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary team environment.  Requires ability to input and retrieve data via Meditech information system.
