Rochester Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder (RRCASD) Short-Term Intensive Training NEW Parent Education Programs (2015) This year the RRCASD is offering 2 short-term intensive training programs. One is a distance learning program offering 3-webinar sessions on Parent Care Coordination in ASD. This program includes 3, 2-hour sessions from 1pm to 3 pm on several Wednesdays in May and June. The other program is a Stress Management Program offering 6, 2-hour sessions in May/June on mindfulness strategies for reducing stress associated with caring for a child with ASD. Seating is limited for both of these programs, so register early! Parent Education Programs Flyer General Short-Term Intensive Training Information Each year we provide time-limited intensive training to a school district, agency, or group who demonstrates a need for targeted training in an area related to the assessment and treatment of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Examples of past training activities include (a) assisting a school district to set up several school-based teams to develop comprehensive support plans for school-age students with ASD to improve participation in the general education setting, (b) assisting a group of developmental agencies to increase their knowledge of effective ASD supports and interventions, (c) assisting a group of transition specialists to increase their knowledge of practice considerations for assessing and supporting transition-age students with ASD, and (d) assisting a group of parents to improve their knowledge and skill in coordinating care for their child with ASD.
