2010 Anh Bui, M.D. Ben Gurion University of the Negev Columbia University Anh was born in Vietnam but grew up in Philadelphia and attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate education. For medical school she studied in Israel at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. She currently lives and works in Rochester, NY. Bethany Calkins, M.D. State University of New York, Buffalo Beth was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, NY, until moving to Rochester for residency. She attended the University of Buffalo for her undergraduate degree where she developed a specialized degree in anatomy and pathology in preparation for medical school. She attended UB Medical School and is currently a palliative care fellow at the University of Rochester. Matthew Capuano, M.D. Matt grew up in a suburb of Rochester, NY and earned his undergraduate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated from Ross University in 2006. He currently lives in Brighton, NY and works here in Rochester. Ashley Gallagher, M.D. University of Texas, Galveston Ashley was born in Natick, Massachusetts and attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Colgate University for her undergraduate degree. She attended medical school at University of Texas, Galveston. She currently lives and works in Rochester, NY. Sachiko Kaizuka, M.D. Hamamatsu University Sachiko was born and raised in Japan and finished high school in Australia. Since her graduation from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, she initially went into Internal Medicine because Family Medicine did not exist in Japan. She then joined one of the first community-based family medicine fellowship programs in Japan, at Kameda Medical Center, in 2001. She currently lives and works in Maine. Pebble Kranz, M.D. Brown Medical School Pebble graduated from Goucher College’s post-baccalaureate pre-medical program in 2003 and from Brown Medical School in 2007 and is particularly interested in mental health issues in the context of primary care, collaborative healthcare, women’s and reproductive health, obstetrics, as well as issues in physician, medical student, and resident health. Pebble joined the faculty here at the University of Rochester Family Medicine Residency. Marina Ma, M.D. University of Michigan Marina was born in Hong Kong and grew up in suburbs of Chicago and Seattle. She spent four years at Dartmouth, and attended medical school at the University of Michigan. She then couples-matched to Rochester, with her SO joining the Emergency Medicine program. She and her SO currently live and work in Rochester, NY. Carrie McNeil, M.D. State University of New York, Syracuse Carrie grew up in a small town in the Hudson Valley region of New York. At Hamilton College, she studied psychology and took many classes in women’s studies and philosophy. She attended SUNY Upstate for med school. Carrie currently lives and works in Rochester, NY. Kevin Zhao, M.D. Beijing University Kevin was born in Yan Chi, a small village in Northwest China and completed my medical degree at Beijing Medical University. Since moving to the US, he completed a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following a year of a Surgery Residency at USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, he joined the Family Medicine Residency. Kevin is currently pursuing a fellowship in sleep medicine at Stanford University. Alicia Zysman Cromwell, M.D. University of Rochester Alicia grew up in Honeoye Falls, NY, and attended Princeton where she studied molecular biology. She returned to Rochester for medical school and is currently living and working in Rochester, NY.
