Kirch Developmental Services Center Diagnostic Evaluations Diagnostic Evaluations for children suspected of having a developmental disability are provided in order to identify the possible causes of developmental delays and assist families in understanding their child’s behavior and development. Evaluations may be provided by a developmental pediatrician, clinical psychologist, or pediatric nurse practitioner. Recommendations may help the family, primary care provider, and educational system in implementing interventions. Follow-up Care Specialty Health Care and Consultation is offered for children with complex developmental disabilities. Developmental pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and pediatric social workers provide ongoing care that addresses health and behavioral issues related to a child's developmental disability. Prenatal Consultations Prenatal consultations are for families who have received a diagnosis of developmental difference prior to the birth of a child.
