Brief Description

SMDNAS provides file storage for the School of Medicine and Dentistry which enables the sharing of files between groups of users and computers.

Example Use

Sharing "low velocity" files with others, such as Microsoft Office documents, small databases or disk-image storage.

Cost

 med_dollar $200/TB/Year (billed monthly)

Capacity

 No limit (costs incurred).

Access and Collaboration

Limited to URMC SMD Community.  Access can be managed at the folder and sub-folder level.

  • Public data. Sensitive / moderate risk data. FERPA-protected data.
  • Confidential or restricted / high risk data. HIPAA-regulated data.
