Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG)

The Internal Medicine Interest Group, mentored by faculty and coordinated by medical students, has a series of events during the year that educates and informs students about a career in Internal Medicine.

Event Purpose Time Frame
Activities Fair For entering class of medical students to explore Internal Medicine. Late Summer (August)
Fall Mixer Dean Lambert hosts Internal Medicine faculty and medical students. Fall (August – September)
Introductory Presentation Internal Medicine faculty members give presentation on their experiences. Fall (August – September)
Specialist Presentation Medicine specialists give presentations on their experiences. Late Fall/Early Winter (November – January)
Physical Exam Day Three-hour workshop for students to learn physical exam skills. Winter (January – February)
Med-Peds Presentation Medicine/Pediatrics faculty members give presentations on their experiences. Late Winter (March)
Match Panel Fourth-year medical students who matched into Internal Medicine residency programs hold a panel to discuss their experiences. Late Winter (March)
