GIDS Workshop with Tyler Stahl from the Genomics Research CenterGRC Participates in the GIDS-REM Workshops

10am - 12pm: Experimental Design & GRC deliverables. This workshop introduces experimental design considerations in the generation of high throughput sequencing data including RNAseq, ChIP-seq (and related -seq technologies).

Thurs 1/11 (Gavett Hall)

10am - 12pm: Bulk RNAseq. This workshop introduces quality control in bulk RNA sequencing experiments and best practices in RNA seq analysis.

Fri 1/12 (Gavett Hall)

10am - 12pm: Single cell sequencing. This workshop introduces single cell RNAseq and ATACseq data generation and analysis.

10X Genomics: Sample Preparation for Single Cell Analysis: Basics and Beyond

The vast complexities of biology require approaches that build a complete picture from single
cells to tissues and beyond. Single cell analysis is a powerful technique to characterize
complex tissue types, identify rare cell populations, uncover regulatory relationships between
genes, and track cell trajectories. From sample handling to cell dissociation, there are a
number of technical considerations that influence cell viability and data quality of single cell
genomics, single cell epigenomics, and single cell gene expression experiments. Join us for
this seminar, which covers critical sample prep decisions and technical considerations for
single cell assay design and optimization.

Introduction to Single Cell RNAseq Analysis Workshop

The Genomics Research Center is hosting an informatics workshop series: Introduction to single cell RNAseq analysis. The series will have four sessions, and each session will be split into a 45 minute lecture followed by a hands-on computational workshop that builds on the information covered in the lecture. Please note that attendance to the lecture is a prerequisite for the hands-on workshop that day.

GRC + T32 Immunology Workshops:

The GRC is currently working to provide bioinformatics analysis training workshops for T32 immunology trainees. The sessions cover basic skills in R and offer practical experience with commonly used bioinformatics analysis packages in R.

The vast complexities of cancer are characterized by heterogeneity across samples,
from tumor cells and tumor microenvironments to therapeutic responses. Elucidating
disease mechanisms requires a deep understanding of these complexities. However,
traditional assays and tools that analyze tissue in bulk miss significant amounts of
information and context due to limited throughput and/or resolution. Through
innovations in single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, solutions from 10x
Genomics help researchers investigate the body’s response to tumors, discover
tumor-associated mutations, and uncover mechanisms of acquired resistance to
therapy. Join 10x Genomics to learn how researchers are using our single cell assays
and spatial tools to gain a multidimensional view of cancer.
