Schmitt Professor and Chair of Neurobiology & Anatomy at the University of Rochester Medical Center, also holding joint appointments in Neurology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Biomedical Engineering, and Brain & Cognitive Science. His research focused on how the brain integrates and plastically adapts sensory inputs from the outside world (visual and auditory) with the internal senses (vestibular and somatosensory) to guide meaningful behavior through a cluttered environment.
